It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

We're talking about the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a team that has won it all.

It needed as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their batters to possess a record if never given the chance.

Finally, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting a chance to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Originally famous as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her nation didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup came three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The tough gloveman was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the run of success.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy stated recently.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was far harder to anticipate.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this innings followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a frustrating experience because it appeared my form was missing completely," said Healy.

"Yet the moment you step out on the field, your competitive nature kick in and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and from that point Healy was in motion.

"The possibility to go out there and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

When she was removed the team needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the assurance to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, should it happen, we know we can achieve it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this World Cup should hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will win from any position has grown stronger - this success succeeding win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing despite the injury.
